Poppy Parade Get Well Card

This is a clean and simple Get Well Card.  The technique used on this one is masking.  I stamped and fussy cut a whole poppy from a post it note, and used it to cover the full poppy stamped on the card.   I then used my mask over the full poppy and stamped the other flowers.  This process makes the second flowers appear to be behind the full flower.  moving the mask back slightly from the edge gives a perfect stamp.  Watch the Video for a complete demonstration of the technique.

The  base for this card is Poppy Parade Card cut at 8 ½” by 5 ½“ scored and folded at 4 ¼“.  I used 2 pieces of Whisper White cut at 3 ¾ “ by 5” and 2 pieces of Basic Black 4 by 5 ¼ “.  This was the layering used for both the inside and outside of the card.

Following are the products used to make the card.  Click on any picture and it will take you to  my store to order.

Timeless Tulips Get Well Card

My Goal for this Pretty Get Well Card was to have realistic looking tulips. I am quite happy with the result.  The card is a little ‘fiddley’ because of the burnishing to give the tulips that realistic look.  I used the back of my pokey tool to add dimension to the petals.  You could easily use a ball tool to get the same look.  There is quite a lot of fussy cutting for the stems and leaves, however, I think it is worth the effort.

I used Granny Apple Green for the Card Base, 8 ½” by 5 ½“ scored and folded at 4 ¼“, 2 pieces of Whisper White 4” by 5 ¼ “, plus a large piece of scrap for the flowers leaves and stems.  The striped paper is from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP, black and white stripes and is cut  2 ¼” by 4”.  There is also a tulip on the inside with a small scrap of the black and white paper.
