Puccini, at about 12 weeks last year

When I put up my Christmas Tree for the Holidays last year, Puccini, then about 12 weeks didn’t seem interested in it at all.  Until .  .  . he figured out he could climb up the tree from the inside. I was a little worried he might topple the tree, but he was so little he hardly made a difference.  This next year could be a different story altogether.

Abigail Rose Birthday/Anniversary Card

This is my first opportunity to play with this suite.  The papers and flowers are very pretty.  I love pocket cards and this one has a slightly different look.  With the cut being so deep on the right side we have the opportunity to really decorate the insert on that side.  I am really quite pleased with the way this one turned out.

I used this card as an anniversary card for my son Steven and my daughter in law, Julia.

Here is a look at the pocket insert.  It would be fun with this one to add a hint of color to the flowers with a dauber. to just get a hint

Measurements and Supplies for today’s Abigail Rose Birthday/Anniversary Card
I used a Gray Granite card base 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”, and a piece 3 ½” by 4 ¾” to matt the card insert
Next a piece of Very Vanilla, for the Card Insert that is 3 ¼” by 4 ½”
I used several pieces from the Abigail Rose designer series paper: from the pale leaf pattern, one strip 1 ¼” by 12” and a piece 3 ¼” by 4”
I die cut from the individual floral paper that fits the dies one pass for flowers and leaves
Finally, a small piece of Very Vanilla scrap for the sentiment on the front of the card

True Beauty, Just Because Card

This was my first opportunity to play with the “Awash in Beauty” Suite, it is just lovely. This suite has so many elements that make it unique.  The lattice die is one of those elements, on this card I used the whole die.  I could see cutting that die, trimming off the border, and floating a portion of it as a part of layering for a card.  After I made this card I went back and added a few, two or three of the solid diamond pieces back to the background, and it changed the look.  I think that would make this an even more elegant card.

The embossing folder added to the layers on this one.  I am anxious to use that folder as a background on its own.  I think that could also be very unique.

Here is a look at the insides of the cards. It was fun to use all of the elements, the gold lattice, flowers, and the embossing on the inside.

Measurements and Supplies for today’s True Beauty Just Because Card:

  • I used a Basic White card base 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”, a quarter panel to do my embossing and a piece of scrap for the sentiment
  • Next 2 pieces of Old Olive, 1 – 4” by 5 ¼’ for the inside of the card and a second piece 4 1/8” by 5 3/8” for the front of the card
  • I used several pieces from the Awash in Beauty designer series paper
  • Finally, a piece of Gold Foil for the lattice piece for the front of the card and an additional small piece for the inside of the card
