March 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

The March 2023 Paper Pumpkin was a fun project for me.  I made 6 cards, and while the colors were a little crazy, I liked them.  I also was pretty pleased with the designs, I did use mostly the material that came with the kit. I did make a bit of my own DSP with three colors of ink and a few of the stamps I really like the way that card came out.

Because this was the 10 year Anniversary for the Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin there was an additional Stamp set in the kit, a nice bonus.

Fancy Flora Thank You Card

In the video on this one I called this paper Floral Country Lane, I meant Fancy Flora DSPThis card is so simple and I just love the colors and pattern on this DSP.  I love it when, when you need a fast card and you know that the Designer Series Paper is pretty enough to carry the design.  I think this one qualifies.  I think this would make a beautiful sympathy card as well.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

Measurements and supplies for today’s Fancy Flora Thank You Card:

  • I used Soft Suede for the card base cut 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”.,
  • I used a piece of Soft Succulent for layering on the front of the card 4” by 5 ¼”
  • Then a piece of Very Vanilla 4” by 5 ¼” for layering on the inside of the card.
  • I used two pieces of Fancy Flora DSP, cut 3 ¾” by 5” for the front of the card and a strip 5/8” by 5 to add to the inside of the card.

6″ by 6″ One Sheet Wonder

I made eight cards for this one sheet wonder project, four masculine cards and four feminine cards.  You can use 1 piece of 6″ by 6″ piece of DSP to make four cards, with no waste. The card bases, all A2 size, and layering pieces depend on the DSP that you use.  Colors would be selected based on the colors in your patterned paper.

This would be a great way to use up some of that 6″ by 6″ paper that you have on hand.  You can use any sentiment depending on your design.  This is the ultimate in flexibility.  You can of course, always, cut down your 12″ BY 12″ paper to make more of these cards.  Think about mass production for Christmas cards later this year.

Here are the two sets of cards:

Here are the supplies for these cards:

Country Flora Fun Fold Birthday Card

This Card is just so cheery and fun.  It is also very easy to make.  This is a great design to use when you really like both sides of the DSP, because you can show both sides of the paper.  This can be cut from a 6″ by 6″ piece of paper and when you make 5 cards the small scrap piece left over from each card can be used to make a 6th card.  So much fun, and when you do it that way there is no waste.  You could easily make a set using the same paper with different sentiments on each, or make a set of thank you cards.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.  The stripe was a bit intense for me so I added the heart to brake up the stripes.

Measurements and supplies for today’s Country Lane Birthday Card:

  • I used Sweet Sorbet for the card base cut 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”, then cut off all but 1 ¼” from one side.
  • I used Basic White for two pieces one for layering on the inside of the card that is cut 4“ by 5 ¼” and a piece of sufficient size to cut the circle for the Greeting using the painted labels dies.
  • Three Pieces of country Floral Lane DSP, the first cut at 4” by 5 1/4″ and the smaller pieces cut at 1” by 5 ¼”and some of the heart paper for punching out some hearts and flowers to add to the card.

Fun Fold Sentimental Park Birthday Card

I had so much of this dainty delights paper left over from ‘Sale A Bration’ I decided  to use some of it on this card the inspiration card for this one came from, Sandy Shipp, my team mate, partner in crime and dear friend for many years.  It is a lovely idea, I do show her card in the video.

I made mine a Birthday Card and could easily see it as a Thanks or Thinking of You, etc.  This is adaptable to almost any DSP and the coordinating colors. Often after the video is over I work on the envelope that goes with the card.  So on this one I included the pictures of the front and the back of the envelope.

There is no kit for this card there is too much stamping.  So, under shop with me – Cards for Sale, a limited supply of sets of two of these cards are available for purchase for $10.

Here is a view from the inside of the card.  This view shows the DSP on the inside of the card.  This also show the outside bottom left hand corner of the envelope, where the image was stamped and colored, a two step stamping process.

Next is the view of the card next to the outside front of the envelope.

The last view shows the card next to the backside of the envelope.  A piece of DSP is cut and adhered to the back flap of the envelope and then trimmed to fit.  You need a piece of DSP that is 2 1/8th”, or the length of you flap with an eighth of an inch overhang by 5 1/2″, or the length of your envelope

Measurements and Supplies for Today’s Card:

  • Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the card bases cut 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”, and again at 2 1/8”, plus a small piece of scrap to create a mat for the sentiment.
  • Three Pieces of Mossy Meadow, the first cut at 4” by 5 ¼” for layering on the inside of the card and 2 pieces cut 1n 7/8” by 5 ¼” for the two front panels.
  • 2 pieces of DSP cut 1 5/8” by 5” for the two front panels.
  • Two pieces of Basic White the first cut 3 ¾” by 5” for layering on the inside of the card, and sufficient scrap to stamp and cut out the four flowers and the sentiment

Two Tone Flora Anniversary Card

There is a kit avThis is an Anniversary Card for my youngest son Steve and my daughter in law Julia.  When they married, I made their wedding invitations.  They were very dramatic in black with Gold Embossing. So I try to keep the theme alive with their anniversary cards.  This amazing dye was just the trick, using the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and black cardstock, I had a little difficulty with the die.  One of you wrote in and reminded me about using waxed paper between the die and the paper.  THANK YOU!  Somehow I had forgotten that trick I have very easily now cut a bunch of this die and with the waxed paper, it was a piece of cake.

I wanted to keep the card simple beyond the die, so the sentiment is very small, and there is minimal decoration on the inside.

Here is a look at the inside of the card with two options for decorations.

The first is just the flower and the second is an approximately 2″ by 2″ cut with the die and backed in black like the front of the card, both added to a Very Vanilla panel.  I think a third option would be to cut out the flower and add a small circle of black underneath to show through the cutouts in the flower.
