What a fun way to use up your DSP Scraps, it doesn’t take much. These cards were so much fun to create and would make wonderful gift sets for someone special. With DSP retiring now is the time to create a bund of these types of cards. You could also create a stash for on hand gifts and easy holiday and hostess gifts.

These are my March 2021 Alternative cards to the Paper Pumpkin Kit. This was fun I used the stencils from the kit and reworked a lot of the material given me, including the envelope liners!
In addition to the Kit Supplies I used the following for my March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives:
I used Whisper White/ Basic White Bases measuring 8 ½” X 5 ½” scored and folded at 4 ¼”.
I used Gilded Gems and the Artistry Blooms Adhesive backed Sequins.
Then I used the Confetti Flowers Border Punch and our Double Oval Punch for some of the sentiments
Let me know if you would like additional detail on any of the specific Cards.
I fell in love with this die set. I was so taken by the thought of a bouquet of flowers wrapped in newspaper. Both of the die images used are pretty. I am particularly pleased with the lighter Granny Apple Green Card. It is my favorite. This fold is also interesting, it looks complex and has lots of parts yet is quite simple.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s Fun Fold For You Card:
I used a Granny Apple Green Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4 ¼” and 2 1/8” then a piece 2 ¾” by 4 ½”, the next piece is 2 ¼ by 4”, and finally some scrap to cut the leaves for the bouquet
Next basic white 4 Pieces, 1) 4” by 5 ¼”, 2) 2 ½” by 4 ¼” & 3) 2” by 3 ¾” 4) 1 7/8” by 5 ¼” . You will also need a small piece of basic white scrap for the “newspaper and small tag”
I used a piece of the Whale of a time 6” by 6” DSP cut 1 5/8” by 5” in granny apple green for the front of the card.
The Flowers using the Beautiful Brushstroke Dies are so full of dimension, they make the card. Again, spring flowers, I am so ready. I wish roses came in this deep purple color, I do have the other colors in my yard. This card was fun to put together and I hope you can give it a try.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s Brushed Blooms Mother’s Day or Easter Card:
I used a Basic White Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4 ¼”, a Piece large enough to cut the Ornate Layers die for the inside of the card, plus an additional piece of scrap for the sentiment label. You can use any of several colors of cardstock to cut your flowers depending on the final colors you want. I used 2 of the Square Vellum Doilies. I also used Old Olive for my leaf bases ad Mossy Meadow for the detail.
This Fun Fold is a simple Card in a Card variation. The Hydrangea Paper is just beautiful and says spring to me. You will notice that I rimmed the smaller card on one of the versions in Misty Moonlight and used Gorgeous Grape for the second. You could easily use any of the complimentary colors in this way to change the look of the card. I am so looking forward to Spring and Flowers and everything green.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s Hydrangea Have a Beautiful Day Card:
I used a Basic White Base measuring 5 ½” by 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4 ¼”, plus 2 additional pieces the first cut at 4 ½” by 3 ½” and a second a piece of scrap to cut the sentiment label. Next I used Gorgeous Grape and cut a piece 7 ½” by 4 ¾” Scored and folded at 3 ¾”. I used 3 pieces of the Hydrangea Hill DSP. The first is cut 4 1/8” by 5 3/8” second 4 ½” by 2 ¾” and finally a piece 1 1/8” by 5 3/8” and fussy cut one of the bouquets from the DSP to add to the front of the card.
This card has a surprise inside, the butterflies on both sides look like they wrap around the card! This background paper for the Bijou Butterfly DSP is so pretty. I did offset the sentiment and used a belly band to hold this one closed.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s Mother’s Day Butterfly Gate Fold Card:
I used a Calypso Coral Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½”, Scored and folded at 2 1/8” from both sides, plus a piece of scrap to cut the backing for the sentiment
I used a piece of the Butterfly Bijou 6” by 6” DSP and cut two (2) pieces 2” by 5 3/8” for the two front panels of the card – as well as a small piece of scrap for the sentiment.
Then I used the small pattern of white dots on Calypso coral to cut two pieces ½” wide to make my bellyband and fussy cut one of the butterflies from the DSP
Next a piece Whisper White/Basic White 3 ¾” by 5” for the inside of the card
Finally Some scrap Basic Black to die cut the Butterflies
