This Hydrangea paper is just so beautiful. When you watch the video you will be able to see just what I did to get a side view of the butterfly. The butterfly looks to me like a Monarch with the orange wings.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s Happy Thoughts Butterfly And Hydrangea Card:
I used a Whisper White/Basic White Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4¼”, plus a piece cut at 3 ¾” by 5” for layering on the inside of the card
I next used a piece of Seaside Spray cut 4 1/8” by 5 3/8” also for the inside of the card
Then a piece Hydrangea Hill DSP cut 4” by 5 ¼” for the front of the card
Then you need a couple of pieces of scrap in Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie to die cut your butterfly pieces
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you have questions.
I Can’t Stop! These blend alcohol backgrounds are addictive. This one is made using Just Jade and Flirty Flamingo and might well be my favorite so far.
This was also an excuse to play with the New Butterfly Bouquet Bundle. I have many more ideas on what to do particularly with these dies. I can just see the black butterflies backed in Pumpkin Pie to resemble a Monarch Butterfly.
I adjusted this card a bit on the inside from my prototype. I added some Flirty Flamingo to the inside along with an additional couple of die cuts.
This suite is going to be fun!

Finally, I made my background piece using a piece of vellum 4 ¼” by 5 ½” and using the Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend and the Dark Just Jade Blend and some 90% alcohol
You all asked for the directions for making this card from my Paper Pumpkin Alternatives. It is definitely a fun fold and quite simple to make. This one started out as a mystery stamping event with one of my demonstrator groups. The card cam from Wanda Williams, Stampin with Wanda, in Gastonia, North Carolina. When I made the original version I used Paper Pumpkin embellishments. So I included the card in my alternatives video. Now it is presented as a stand alone project called out by popular demand. I do love the black and white with a pop of color.
Measurements and Supplies for the Thinking of You Fun Fold Card:
I used a Basic Black Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½”, Score in from the edge on both sides at 2 1/8”.
My inside Layer is White 4” by 5 ¼”.
I used 2 pieces of Smokey Slate 2 ½” by 4”,
then 2 pieces of DSP from True Love DSP 2 ¼” by 3 ¾” to layer on top.
Finally 2 pieces of complimentary DSP from True Love DSP 1 7/8” by 5 ¼” to layer on the front of the gate fold sides.
The Stamp set I used was from the Touch of Ink from Sale A Bration.
I was inspired for this card by one I received in a Swap from one of my Team Members, Sandy Shipp here in Littleton Colorado. This stamp set is simply beautiful .
I loved the simplicity of this one. Stamping right on the DSP allowed for a different look and this multiple stamp set gives plenty of contrast.
The card looks complicated but is quite simple to make
