This card is a variation on the Dutch Door Card, there are many variations. It is perfectly suited to a large dimensional flower focal image like the pansy in this card. I love the Shimmer Vellum Cardstock, it dresses up the card beautifully. I put the Happy Birthday sentiment for this card on the inside on the left, which leaves plenty of room to write a sentiment.
Building the Pansy from the die pieces takes a bit of time in that there are quite a few pieces. I think the leaves and the bud really add something to this card. I have pansies just about in these colors in my yard. Some people say that there is the face of a grumpy old man in the center of this flower, what do you think?
Following are the Measurements and Supplies for today’s Pansy Birthday Card Card:
- I used a Basic White Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4 ¼”
- Then a piece 3 ¼” by 4 ½” and scrap sufficient to cut out the sentiment
- Next 2 pieces of Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum 1 piece 4” by 5 ¼” and 1piece 4” by 3 ¼”
- Some Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum sufficient to cut out the pansy flower petals
- You will need a small piece of scrap of Evening Evergreen Soft Succulent, to cut out the leaves.
- Finally The Detail on the flower petals was cut from a piece of scrap Blackberry Bliss
