This card is a variation on the Dutch Door Card, there are many variations.  It is perfectly suited to a large dimensional flower focal image like the pansy in this card.  I love the Shimmer Vellum Cardstock, it dresses up the card beautifully. I put the Happy Birthday sentiment for this card on the inside on the left, which leaves plenty of room to write a sentiment.

Building the Pansy from the die pieces takes a bit of time in that there are quite a few pieces.  I think the leaves and the bud really add something to this card.  I have pansies just about in these colors in my yard. Some people say that there is the face of a grumpy old man in the center of this flower, what do you think?

Following are the Measurements and Supplies for today’s Pansy Birthday Card Card:

  • I used a Basic White Base measuring 8 ½” by 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4 ¼”
  • Then a piece 3 ¼” by 4 ½” and scrap sufficient to cut out the sentiment
  • Next 2 pieces of Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum 1 piece 4” by 5 ¼” and 1piece 4” by 3 ¼”
  • Some Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum sufficient to cut out the pansy flower petals
  • You will need a small piece of scrap of Evening Evergreen Soft Succulent, to cut out the leaves.
  • Finally The Detail on the flower petals was cut from a piece of scrap Blackberry Bliss
