Fun Fold, by the Bay, For You Card

I used this card in my team meeting as a mystery stamping project.  I love the card and it is pretty simple to do once you cut the pieces.  On the original card I used the large bird cut from the DSP and the the card for the video I used a stamped, die cut and colored bird.  The DSP has a limited number of birds that can be cut directly.  However you can make unlimited versions from the stamped image.  This could easily be a birthday or any other kind of sentiment card.  I think it lends itself to use also as a masculine card. I have really enjoyed the By the Bay stamp and die set, and I am not done yet.

    February 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

I don’t usually make cards with critters, etc. but plan to use some of these for my Grandson.  With the additional cards following these first 6 there are a couple that are less juvenile. For the video I did make 6 cards, but just couldn’t stop.  So there are two additional cards that I show here that are pretty easy to make.  Here are the first 6 cards, these are the ones covered in the video: The next two have measurements and descriptions.

In addition to the kit supplies I used A2 card bases in Thick Basic White 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. I also used a bit of Pool Party Ink.

Following are the last two I made.

I used a Thick Basic White Card Base and layered a piece of Basic Black 4″ by 5 1/4 then used the little flower stamp and stamped in Momento Black all over a piece 3 3/4″ by 4″ and colored in the flowers using my markers.  I also used the tiny hello stamp to fill in in Basic Black.  I used a strip of black 4″ by 3/4″, with the black and white ribbon on either side.  The sentiment is simple on a small piece of white on the black strip.  The inside has a Basic Black layer 4″ by 5 1/4″ and a white layer over that that is 3 3/4″ by 5″, more stamped and colored flowers. and a strip of the black and white ribbon on the side. I think this is a very cheery little card.

This card is on a Thick Basic White Cardstock Base 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. Then I used the inside of one of the kit card bases with the gradient blue background.  On this card piece I used the kite stem to make flower stems used my marker to “draw in” a few leaves and draw and cut out a couple more.  I stamped the sun stamp on some of the envelope paper and used my blender pen to tease out some sun flower leaves in the sun rays to make sun flowers and used Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for the inner markings of the flower. I then fussy cut out the home made Sun Flowers and added them to the stems on the front of the card. The inside has a balmy Blue layer 4″ by 5 1/4″ then a layer of white 3 3/4″ by 5″ with and additional sun flower and a few leaves in one of the corners.

Thanks so much for Stopping by.  Let me know if you have questions.

Fancy Flora Fun Fold Birthday Card

This card has been living in my head for a few weeks.  I wanted to make a simple fun fold card and I liked the idea of the double point cards.  The points on those cards always appeared too short and stubby to my eye.  So I set out to design one that was more pleasing to my eye, and this is what I came up with.  A single longer point is, as I see it, a bit more elegant.  The idea of the Designer Series Paper that looked floral had a real appeal.  As you can see, any designer series paper will make this design work.  I love the look of this one and am going to try some other floral paper to work with. There are a few kits available for this card, it is located on the Shop With Me section of my blog under Kits to Go.  (when they are gone they are gone.)

On the second version, the one made in the video I used our stitched greenery die on the white panel on the front of the card, and I really like the textured effect.  It was interesting to me that you could stamp that paper both before and after using the stitched greenery die.  I hope you give this a try.

Measurements and Supplies for Today’s Fancy Flora Fun Fold Birthday Card:

    • A piece of Petal Pink Cut 4“, by 5 ¼” for layering on the front of the card (again this choice depends on the colors in the DSP that you use).
    • Then a piece of Basic White, cut 3 ¾” by 5” also for layering on the front of the card, another piece of basic white cut 4“, by 5 1/4” for the inside of the card and a small piece of scrap to Stamp and die cut the sentiment.
    • the DSP, any floral or any of the patterns in fancy flora will work,  is cut 4 1/4″ Square to layer on the front a second piece is cut 3/4″ by 3 3/4″ for the front and a strip 3/8″ by 5 1/4″ for the inside of the card.
