I just love this card. This one was inspired by my lovely team mate Lucinda Veeck Gosden, Frabjous Cards, from Williamsburg, Virginia. We made this card in a recent card class and it was a big hit.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s Celebrate Sunflowers Get Well Card:
• I used Basic for my Card Base 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored ad folded at 4 ¼”, plus two pieces 3 ¾” by 5” and scrap to stamp and cut the flowers leaves and sentiment
• I then used 1 piece of Basic Black cut at 4” by 2 ½”for the front of the card, and 1 piece 4” by 5 ¼” for the inside of the card
• I also used Black and White Gingham paper from Pattern Party 12” by 12” DSP, the piece is cut 2 1/2 ” by 4″
We used daubers with Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody to get the variation in the flower color. I think anyone would be cheered up getting this card.
Thanks so much for Stopping by today and happy crafting.
These are the final techniques used for the Pastel Assortment
using Blending Brushes to apply the chalk
to tear tape and
Directly to a card front
Paint with pastel chalk using a small amount of water or alcohol
Using the chalk directly to the card front
Using Versa Mark to stamp an image and then applying the pastel with a dauber
Using Versa Mark and adding pastels with a blending Brush
Using a Blender Pen with the chalk
using Versa Mark partially on paper and adding just a bit of pastel as an accent
I have since thought of using a Mask and Versa Mark and adding chalk and mixing some of the chalk powder with our paste. Those could both be quite interesting as well.
Measurements and Supplies for today’s 3rd and Last in the series Soft Pastel Assortment
• I used a Basic White Cardstock for my Card Bases or a Color Cardstock that compliments the card design – 8 ½” by 5 ½”, scored ad folded at 4 ¼”
• Then I used Basic Black, Bermuda Bay Mossy Meadow & Granny Apple Green for layering pieces cut at 4” by 5 ¼” inside and outside the cards
• I also used Basic White cut at 3 ¾” by 5” for the focal image on the fronts and the 2nd layering pieces on the inside
Thanks for stopping by, let me know if you have questions.
Here are the Cards made in the first and second videos in the series. There are just so many things you can do. In this group I have used:
Paint with pastel chalk
using Blending Brushes to apply the chalk to a card front
Using the chalk directly to the card front
Using a Blender Pen with the chalk
using Versa Mark partially on paper and adding just a bit of pastel as an accent
If you wipe off the excess chalk, I don’t think you will have to add a fixative to the final project. Some in the past have “fixed” the chalk to their projects with hair spray. I also think that you could add another layer of Versa Mark and heat set the chalk if you were worried about the final result.

This is the first in a series, showing how to use the soft Pastel Assortment, chalks, from Stampin’ Up! this technique is using just a dab of Water added to the chalk dust, with which to paint your images. Lots of fun, and you can get lighter or darker images depending on how much you color and re-color the image. There are so many ways to use the pastels that I will have two more videos coming with additional material.
I think this would make a lovely set of thank you cards to use as a gift for someone. Start now, make all of the colors in the Pastel assortment and have a few cards for gifts for the Holidays. If you are like me I need a lot of time to organize those kinds of projects.

These Designs are so pretty. The technique is not difficult, it is however a little fiddly. I definitely love the results. I know that you have a ton of leftover images and leaves so that putting one of these together might help you with reducing your stash. This would be a lovely way to use up some of that material. I hope you give it a try. Do, and let me know how you did.
